Suad Maow moved from Boston to Minneapolis in 2019 to find a slower pace of life and lower cost of living. She’d previously worked as a business analyst in the corporate world, but now found herself in a new city, unemployed and looking for a new opportunity.
Amidst her job search, she discovered Hennepin County’s Pathways program, which was listed as a prerequisite for an office specialist job she was interested in. She attended an orientation, worked with a career specialist and decided to take the leap.
Now, nearly five years later, Maow is a senior planning analyst in the Office of Workforce Development in the Disparity Reduction line of business. She attributes her experience in the Pathways program as major factor in reaching her goal, and she now hopes to help others reach theirs.
