They are a collaboration between community-based organizations, educational institutions, and employers. Programs are designed to attract and retain a diverse workforce who are committed to training and obtaining a long-term career.

Building operations technician pathway
Participants build computer and professional skills to prepare for Human Services positions. These positions all involve helping community members navigate county benefits.
Human services representative pathway
In a virtual and on-site setting, participants hone their administrative, technology, and customer service skills with Hennepin County laptops, courses are taught by Project for Pride in Living instructors in collaboration with Hennepin County staff. Graduates are eligible for a variety of job classes, including the most common Office Specialist III or Office Specialist, Principal.
Apprentices gain hands-on experience in welding, working in confined spaces, and general machine maintenance. Graduates are eligible to apply for full time employment at the Hennepin Energy Recovery Center and Hennepin County's Facility Services.
Program participants are hired into the Trainee Security Officer job class, receiving full time pay while attending classes and working at county buildings. Program graduates are eligible to interview for a permanent Security Officer position at Hennepin County.
