Hennepin County’s Facilities Management department celebrated the 17th annual Hennergy Awards at Ridgedale Library. This event recognizes division staff, teams and individuals across the county for their commitment to reducing energy consumption.
This year’s theme was “Star Power” to highlight the major expansion of solar power at county facilities and the star-studded Facilities Management teams that keep our buildings operational and efficient. Congratulations to all the winners! Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
District 5 Commissioner Debbie Goettel was in attendance and shared a brief message of encouragement and appreciation to attendees. Other speakers included Energy Manager AJ Van den Berghe who served as the event host, Director of Facility Services Margo Geffen, and Director of Facilities Management Jonathan Holmes.
The Sather Spirit Award, which recognizes one staff member who goes above and beyond in their commitment to energy saving, was awarded to Mike Cole, Facilities Maintenance-Operations Engineer for Adult Corrections Facility.
The Team Spirit Award was presented to Aphichart Atchawong, Betty Williams, Bruce Bauer, David Saice, Dwayne Bloodsaw, Georgia Ford, Gregory Voigt, Koffi Nougloze and Odier Olange of the Facilities Management team representing the Public Safety Facility.
