Celebrating Adoption with Volunteer Support

National Adoption Month is a time to celebrate children finding their forever families—and volunteers make that celebration possible. In November, the Volunteer Services team partnered with the Adoption team and community members to create gift baskets for newly adopted children and their families.

Volunteers came together in creative ways: making fleece blankets at a speed volunteering event, sewing bags, and gathering treats donated by local businesses. Parishioners from Immaculate Heart of Mary Church purchased gifts, while others added personal touches like event tickets to make baskets extra special. These efforts ensured families felt supported and celebrated during this milestone.

In total, 11 children adopted in November and December received gifts thanks to volunteers and partners. Their generosity extended beyond baskets—donations even provided professional photography sessions for adoptive families in December.

Every adoption finalized during National Adoption Month reflects the commitment of volunteers and partners who give their time and creativity to make families feel valued. Their collaboration turns a simple gesture into a powerful message: these families are not alone—they are embraced by a caring community.
